Wanderlust adventurers who found social media fame through their renovations. They want to upgrade this on a chateau scale and host yoga retreats for key workers.
About Paloma & Chris
Chris and Paloma have been together for almost four years, having met when they were both living in Cornwall. Chris freelances as a graphic designer and used to work as an international pet sitter. After 5 years of travelling the world in this role, he has settled down in Cardiff with Paloma.
Paloma is a trained veterinary surgeon, and after 7 years in the fast-paced, high-stress environment, she now works part-time to also focus on their property renovations and content creation.
The pair are both adventurous, wanderlust travellers who spent the first two years of their relationship travelling around Europe in “Doreen”, the campervan, working remotely and saving up for their first home as they went.
Their DIY journey
Chris and Paloma’s DIY journey started in August 2023 when they purchased their derelict Victorian terraced house. After getting unaffordable quotes from builders—including some worth more than the actual house—they sat down and decided to do as much as they could themselves, and have been learning on the job ever since.
Since then, the pair have had a very impressive journey. Despite starting out with zero experience, they have now learned how to do pretty much everything. A couple of months in, they started sharing their renovation online and have amassed over 500k followers across all platforms.
Chris and Paloma share a keen interest in interior design and high standards for the finish of their home. Everything they do, they take their time and inject as much love and TLC as possible.
In her spare time, Paloma can be found tinkering with woodwork in the garden studio that she built. She also loves scouring Facebook marketplace for antiques and furniture that she can restore—often finding perfect pieces for a chateau!
The Dream
This ambitious pair would love to take on a bigger challenge and have always dreamed about living in France—especially as they currently live in the rainiest city in the UK!
Their plan for the chateau would be to run yoga retreats with a particular focus on giving key workers a safe space to come and relax.
Chris and Paloma align well on their ambitions and goals for life, and always aim to “do good” wherever they go. When it comes to renovation, Paloma has the big ideas, and Chris is there to rein her in and make the decisions a bit more realistic!
