Ever dreamed of restoring a château and starting a new life in France? Chateau DIY: Win the Dream is giving one lucky pair the chance to turn that dream into reality.
This record-breaking competition will award Channel 4’s biggest-ever daytime prize, a château worth £250,000. Led by Head Judge Max McMurdo, alongside guest judges from Chateau DIY, contestants face real-world renovation and design challenges that test creativity, practicality, and resilience under pressure.
Set across three heat weeks, four pairs compete in each heat to secure a place in the final. Every Friday, the remaining pairs leave the prize property to take on demanding event challenges in working châteaux, serving real guests under real scrutiny. One by one, pairs are eliminated, with only the strongest returning for the grand finale, where the ultimate winner is crowned.

Meet Max – Our Head Judge
Renowned designer, sustainability pioneer and DIY expert, Max McMurdo takes the helm of Win The Dream as Head Judge. Celebrated for his innovative up-cycling projects and passion for sustainable living, he’ll lead the judging panel with a blend of expertise, wit and creative flair.
Each week he’ll set the challenges and be joined throughout by a rotating line-up of guest judges from beloved Channel 4 series, Chateau DIY. Together, with Max’s expertise and our guest judges real-life experience of renovating historic buildings, they will assess each contestants’ vision, craftsmanship, and ability to turn a crumbling property into a thriving enterprise.
