Danielle & Martin
Eclectic Doncaster duo can always be found “suited and booted” and now need a grand chateau to match their alternative styles.

About Danielle and Martin
Martin has worked for railway telecoms as a senior engineer for the past 26 years, where he has to fix things such as cables and radio communication towers. When younger, he studied at art college and also studied GFX.
Danielle studied interior design when she was younger and then started working in estate agency. She now runs a team of 5 brokers across Yorkshire and is confident these skills will transfer well when managing her new chateau as a business.
Both Danielle and Martin have been through their share of hardships. Despite this, they are both extremely spirited people and embrace everything life throws at them.
Their DIY journey
Danielle was taught a lot of her building and DIY skills from both her grandfathers. She used to help them with their DIY and build things like bird boxes in their spare time. Now, many years later, with her tool collection larger than ever, she has fitted kitchens, bathrooms, carpets and bought a 300-year old cottage that needs every room renovating.
Martin is similarly skilled and as a pair there is nothing they can’t do together. Between the two of them, they have renovated every room in their home, re-configured and re-fit the kitchen, gutted and re-fit the bathroom, installed a downstairs toilet in a cupboard under the stairs, laid patios, built a huge pergola, decks, installed flooring and ceilings—even a huge, wonky dinner party table for all their ever-growing family to join them.
The couple share an edgy, eclectic and maximalist taste in design and feel they work well as a team. They’re both very hands-on; Danielle is great with her cement mixer, laying bricks and design, whilst Martin is great at structure and making sure things are safe and sound.
The Dream
Danielle and Martin speak every day about moving abroad, and the only reason it hasn’t happened yet is due to lack of funds. They’ve got the money to renovate but not buy, so winning a chateau would mean so much to them.
The pair would love to run an “alternative” chateau for non-conventional weddings and celebrations. Their dream is to host like-minded, quirky and alternative people at the chateau. If the property is big enough, the ultimate dream would be to host mini music festivals!
